OUR STORY
Above the entrance you’ll find the name “Tobrook,” created by combining the names of the original owners, Tomas and Brook, who built the house and raised their family here for over 40 years.
When we first visited and met José Maria Tomas, we felt an immediate connection — to him and to the special home itself. In a beautiful coincidence, we later realised that the name of the town, Alella, unites our names as well (Alasdair + Raphaella = Alella).
It felt meant to be. We are proud to continue the story of this special home and share it with others.
As he was a former sea captain, the villa features lots of nautical charm thanks to its maritime decor which instantly attracted the current owner Alasdair who is also a keen yachtsman. This is something you will notice when you are at the middle deck of the house having a drink at the ships bar
Raphaella who has a great love of the countryside and hiking fell in love with the mountainside setting. The expansive views, abundant natural light, and multiple outdoor spaces for guests to enjoy without feeling crowded were major factors in her decision to purchase the property. She loves to pick her own lemons and figs which grow in abundance in the garden. Why not pick one yourself to add to garnish your gin and tonic? Or recreate her signature salad - featuring ripe figs, blue cheese, walnuts, and endive.
